Slow Cooker Breakfast Idea

Stuck for breakfast ideas? Us too. However this seems to be a go-to in the Foster household for those early morning meals on cold winter days. We call it Slow Cooker Sweet Potato Oatmeal. Yup, use a slow cooker and that’s it really. Slow cooker breakfast ideas are the best.


  • 1 medium-large sweet potato grated (skin peeled and grated)
  • 2 cups of steel cut oats
  • 1/4 cup hemp protein powder
  • 1 tbsp organic cinnamon powder
  • 1 tsp  organic all spice
  • 1 tsp organic clove
  • 1/2 cup coconut palm sugar
  • 5 cups filtered water
  • 3 cups organic unsweetened almond milk


Put all the ingredients into a slow cooker. Stir the ingredients and make sure they are all incorporated and blending together. Cook on low for 6 hrs.

It may appear watery when its cooked, but once you stir everything it will have a thicker consistency.

Top with chopped walnuts.

This slow cooker breakfast idea can be switched up with squash, pumpkin, carrot, apple, etc…
