In high school I kept fit by playing basketball and other sports and it was after that period of my lifet hat I started to get a real keen interest for strength training. Initially I was lifting weights to look and feel stronger.
Back then I was working for a supplement store in a mall (which I loved) and I read everything possible about fitness and supplementation. I was in the best shape of my life. Then suddenly my career path started to change for convenience and the desire for more income. Fitness took a backseat to my career not unlikemost of the clients I know. I guess this is why I can understand what they are going through and relate to their struggles. Doing a job I didn’t enjoyand not working out gave me avoid feeling. I was missing something and I really wanted to work in the fitness industry again.
So I made the decision to take control of my health and join a gym. I started to talk with management and other Personal Trainers who worked there. They loved their job and it seemed like they weren’t even working. They were smiling all the time andwearing tracksuits and running shoes to work. The Trainers were constantly eating too which looked like it gave them boundless energy. When they were not working, they were working out.
So I did it! I got certified as a Trainer, ditched the comfy corporate job and started working at a big box gym. Finally, I thought I was in control of my life.
My passion for fitness shone through in my daily energy. I was early for client appointments, I walked the floor helping members and I even started teaching group fitness classes. In terms of servicing clients and sales at the club, I was always at the top. I felt like a rock-star!
Then it started to happen. Being a highly sought after Personal Trainer in this big box gym made my schedule crazy. Everyone wanted to train with me. I was working at 5:30am all the way up to 10pm at night. Sure I had a couple of breaks in the afternoon but those were used for sleeping in the tanning booths and for myfast-paced fitness workouts.

Enough was enough. I couldn’t take both scenarios anymore. My fitness was suffering and so was the health and fitness of my clients. This is when I decided to become an in home Personal Trainer and bring the gym to all of my clients (new ones). If I let them workout in the comfort of their own home on their schedule, this would allow the stress to be lifted off their shoulders. I would bring all the fitness equipment they would need and design a personal training program according to their goals.
It was a hit. People wanted convenience. Whether my client was a corporate career person or a stay at home mom, they needed a Mobile Personal Trainer to come to them. In Home Personal Training took off and I was busy like crazy again. I did little to no marketing: only working off of referrals.
