Hi everyone, Jason MacCulloch here. I am your Ancaster Personal Trainer. For me, fitness has always been a huge part of my life. It started at a very young age. I think I was running around the house before I start walking! Soon after that, I was throwing the ball around with my dad. Since then I've played several team sports throughout the years at very competitive levels including college volley-ball, track and field, baseball and ball hockey.
While at college I studied business and graduated with two diplomas. After graduating, off I went to work in the corporate world at a big head office in Toronto. While there I was a member of the health and wellness committee, still played sports, worked out on my own and tried to eat right and exercise often. Soon after, I got certified as a Personal Trainer because I was so passionate about my own workouts and wanted to learn more. I started volunteering at our work gym as a Personal Trainer and designed programs for coworkers. It caught on fast as word of mouth spread, and soon I found it hard to do my corporate job at hand. In fact, the Personal Training was actually a lot more interesting and desirable for me. I also started teaching a boot camp which grew to be a very popular class.
After a few years I found myself loving Personal Training and I was reading fitness, anatomy, physiology and biomechanics text books for fun! After almost a year of thinking, contemplating and arguing with myself, I decided to make the very hard decision of leaving my ‘cushy’ office job to pursue a career in the fitness industry. So, I come to you here as someone chasing a passion, not money. It is because of my passion and deep love for fitness that separates me from other Ancaster Personal Trainer's out there. I am totally focused on helping you learn, achieve and maintain your goals!
For me, fitness has to be fun in order to work and it must be done daily. That is how I think about fitness.
When I am not kicking my client’s butts as their Ancaster Personal Trainer, I am kicking my own! I love adventurous activities like white water rafting, Spartan/Tough Mudder races and hiking. When it is time to relax, a good book can occupy my time.
In big box gyms you may be just another number? However, since I run and own the Ancaster Personal Trainer side of Trainers On Site I can tell you that I truly care about your results!
